Cleaning a Hummingbird Feeder

When cleaning hummingbird feeders, we're supposed to avoid chemicals and they are to be cleaned regularly due to dangerous mold build-up. An easy way to swash out the inside of the bottle is to put in a SCOTT towel with a little plain water and swirl it around. Voila - it's clean!

Double Your Paper Towels

I always take an electric knive and saw my rolls of paper towel in half before I put them on my dispenser. You usually only need half a piece anyway. This makes your rolls go twice as far. I've been doing this for years now.

Shoe Organizers

I have a closet right across from my kitchen where I've hung a shoe organizer (the kind that hangs from the rod with square compartments for shoes). In it I keep new paper towel rolls, my kitchen linens, dishrags, plastic bags, plastic wrap, foil, etc. A roll of SCOTT towels fits in one compartment perfectly!

Window Cleaner

Save the outside wrap from SCOTT 1000 sheet toilet paper rolls and use them when cleaning your windows. They really shine and are a good way to save on your paper towels.

SCOTT Packaging

The packaging for your SCOTT products should have a recycle symbol. Living in Oregon has made me very aware of trash that needs to be recycled. Our main export to China is recycled paper! The amount of packaging going into landfills must be tremendous. PLEASE let people know that it can be reused and help save the world. SCOTT can do a lot to help just by adding a little symbol to the packaging. I even recycle the cardboard inside the rolls of toilet paper!

Rechargeable Devices

I put a small piece of masking tape on cords stating what they are for (such as weather radio, blower for air mattress, etc.). It makes finding them much easier when you don't use them every day.

Emergency Collar Stays

In an emergency, replace the collar stays in your dress shirts by cutting the ends of the metal rods found in hanging folders to the length and slant you need. They work great. Remove the metal rods from your shirts when you're not wearing them to protect the fabric from rust.

Wicking The Moisture From Shoes Saturday, July 5, 2008 Tip #1

Here's a tip for anyone who likes to keep the inside of their shoes moisture free and smelling fresh. Take a plastic zip lock bag. Next put about 3 teaspoons of baking soda inside the bag. Next place 3-4 SCOTT PAPER TOWELS inside the bag. Next shake the bag to coat and distribute the SCOTT PAPER TOWELS inside the plastic bag of baking soda. Next take the SCOTT PAPER TOWELS one-by-one and shake it "lightly" inside your kitchen sink. DO NOT get any water on the SCOTT PAPER TOWELS. Next take
