Saving Money/Leftovers

If you have a baby, take your left over vegetables, potatoes, gravy or anything you had for dinner and put it your blender; pulse and then freeze in ice cube trays. A lot cheaper than baby food. One ice cube is enough for a baby that is just starting out on food. You can increase the amount as they get older and won't have to puree it as much.

Help with Moving

When packing delicate items for a move, wrap them in as many Scott paper towels as needed for protection. When you arrive at your new destination and upack, you will have all your items safe and secure. As you unpack, you will have a supply of towels to clean with as you settle in. This works better than using newspaper because the paper towels "hug" the items better and there is no messy newsprint. I also use this method when I put items in storage in my attic or basement.

Dollars & Sense - Shopping

Combine your coupons with sales!

I clip coupons for items that I buy on a regular basis and items that I would buy if I could get them for a really cheap price or even free. You would be surprised at how many items go on sale at your local retailer within 1-4 weeks from the time a coupon for that same item is distributed. I combine my coupons with sales when possible to maximize my savings. I also hold on to my coupons until the day they expire, because you never know when you will run into a great deal!

Don't forget your coupons

I was always forgetting my coupons when I would go to the store, then I tried this and it's been working like a charm. If you take an envelope and tape it to your front door and write on the outside COUPONS and you put your coupons in it then every time you are ready to leave the house you are more likely to remember to take them with you.

Can Cozies

Everyone has those foam can cozies laying around. I use one in the shower to keep my shaving cream can from getting rusty. Also, we keep them in the car cup holders to hold bottled water and keep it cold. Very versatile!

Healthy Hints - Family Health

Soda Substitute

The best way to keep your family healthy is by encouraging healthy eating habits. Consider eliminating soda from you family's diet. At most, only let your children drink soda on the weekends, or as a special treat. Substitute soda for an alternative tasty drink, like a smoothy. Pick your favorite fruits and watch your kinds enjoy a nice, healthy, sweet drink.

Keep Paint Brushes and Rollers from Drying Out

When you're finished painting for the day, wrap your brushes and rollers in any brand clear plastic wrap overnight, and you can pick up painting the next day where you left off.

Molasses or Maple Syrup

When a recipe calls for molasses or maple syrup, spray the measuring cup first with nonstick spray. It will just slide right out, and you will not have any waste.
