I take an empty tissue box and put Christmas shopping receipts in it. This keeps all my receipts in one place, and if the box falls, everything stays inside. If something has to be returned, I have the receipt.
Don't throw away those used toothbrushes. Use them as mini scrub-brushes to clean all those tiny spaces that are hard to clean with standard methods. That includes the hinges of your toilet seat, window and patio door tracks and seams of cabinet doors. Use your imagination. After all, you paid for them once and now they can serve a second purpose.
Vinegar can be used for so many cleaning jobs. You can dilute it with water to clean glass. Also, use half vinegar and half water for cleaning breathing machines and accessories. The list goes on and on.
USE A STRAW TO KEEP NECKLACE CHAINS FROM TANGLING. EVEN BENDY STRAWS WORK WELL. JUST CUT A SMALL SLIT IN THE END OF THE STRAW AND FEED THE CHAIN THROUGH THE STRAW. AT THE OTHER END OF THE STRAW WILL BE THE DECORATION ON YOUR NECKLACE; SO CUT A SLIT IN THAT END OF THE STRAW AND YOUR DECORATION WILL LAY FLAT IN YOUR JEWELRY DRAWER.
During the year, I shop the clearance sales for next year's gifts. I put a large plasic container for each child in my basement, and when I find something for one or all of them, I put the gift in their container! When Christmas comes, my children get all their gifts in their container and the container itself for staying organized! They all love it!
After a thorough cleaning of your shower, follow up with an application of car wax on your tiled walls. You'll find that your shower self-cleans better, and the wax makes it easier for quick wipe-downs. It's a big help if you have hard water.
I always keep a partially filled water bottle in the freezer. When I am going out on a hot day, I fill it up to the top with water and put an old heavy sock on it. Now I always have cold water when I need it, and the sock makes the bottle comfortable to hold. Lots of my friends made fun of me at first, and now they do the same.
If your tub and shower walls are plastic and you can't seem to scrub the dirt off, try oven cleaner. Make sure you have the windows open or the fan on to ventilate the room, then spray on a coat of oven cleaner. Let the foam sit for about 10-15 minutes, then, wearing rubber gloves, use the scrubby side of a sponge, and the dirt will come right off without scratching your finish.
