Return Address Labels use

Putting return address labels on things you lend out was a good tip, but I also keep a sheet of return address labels with me when I go to a carnival or church picnic and have to put my name on a lot of tickets for tricky trays etc...easier than writing your name so many times.

Grocery bag holder

I keep two small rectangle trahs cans on the opposite side of my garage steps...I put plastic bags in one and brown paper bags in the other...They can be used for garden projects, recycling, yard waste or just for stuffing fall boots...Anytime I reach for one they are there... I place the tall recyle yard waste bags down the side of the brown paper trash can and they are ready in a snap!

Save Time

When I buy a new appliance, I glue a litt1e piece of velcro to the booklet and the appliance. When I need maintenance for the appliance, no searching for the booklet,it's right there. This is a time saver for me.

Homework Hassles

When your little one has a hard time doing their homework...discuss with them how much homework they have for the night and reward them with some playtime and a healthy snack. Playtime should be something they love to do and should not be longer than 15-20 minutes per subject, and you will find that they concentrate better on the homework longer and longer as the days go by. This works especially well with children that have ADD and ADHD, but others will benefit from it as well. It saves arguments and keeps peace in the family at homework time.

Top 10 Ways to Simplify Your Life

Learn how to say “no” more often. Your time is valuable. Respect your time as much as you respect other people. Be realistic. You are only one person. You have the same amount of hours in each day as the next guy. Split up your responsibilities into smaller “groups”, or, learn to delegate amongst your family. Start a household notebook, any standard sized binder will do. You can keep track of schedules, calendars, to-do lists, even plan your weekly meals and keep emergency numbers for babysitters. At the beginning of each week, have your family suggest a meal for the following week on an index card. When you collect them, write the ingredients on the card. That way, you have your shopping list.

Messy Sandwiches

When eating a messy sandwich, place it in a flip top sandwich bag and the mess will drop into the bag instead of dropping onto your clothes. Eat the sandwich with confidence and no mess.

Easy Phone Dialing for the Elderly

My mother suffered from Macular Degeneration which impaired her eyesight. It was difficult for her to dial phone numbers, so I requested that 411 dial local phone numbers for my Mom. She dialed 411 and gave the name and street for the business or person she wanted to call. It was a life saver for her and us!

Latex Garden Gloves

I buy a cheap box of latex gloves in the Health and Beauty aisle for gardening. It has a dispenser like box you can keep them in my garden basket as you tour my flower beds. Wear two gloves at a time and pull weeds, level mulch or reposition stones etc. You won't have dirty finger nails to scrub and you'll have less irritation from nettle and thistle!
