Best, Fastest, and Cheapest Window Cleaner

I was astounded when I FINALLY tried this: Plain rubbing alcohol, proportioned to 1/4 to 1/2 parts mixed with water, is the absolute best window cleaner I have EVER used. It's fast and rids the grease, low on elbow grease, and short on SCOTT® Towels!!!

Disposable Face Cloths

There are several ways to save or reuse disposable face cloths. Most of these cloths are big enough that you can either cut them in half (or quarters) and you quickly stretch your money. You can also use the other side to wipe down your sink or bathroom countertops after you've used them for their intended purpose.

Reusing Plastic Bottles

I make beaded crafts. I reuse shampoo bottles, plastic food containers, and empty medicine bottles to store my beads, needles, and craft wire. It saves me a lot of money.

Bleach on Vacation

When going on a vacation, we always take all the trash out before we leave so the house won't smell bad when we return. I just tried something else on my own, when I left to go to the NHRA races in Indiana, I put a cup of bleach in the kitchen sink. When I returned home three days later, the house smelled as if I had just cleaned it. This is cheap and it really works.

Washing Windows

Make a pail of hot, soapy water using a grease-cutting dishwashing liquid. Sponge the window down with the soapy water and wipe it clean with a towel. It doesn't leave streaks and requires little elbow grease.

Safety

This is certainly a creative idea. BUT, if people boil eggs with pasta, they need to be very careful that the egg shells are washed clean. There could be traces of salmonella on the shells that could transfer to the pasta.

Freezing Bulk Hamburger

I used to buy hamburger in bulk, separate & freeze in 1 lb. bags. When I needed a lb. I would cook it. I now cook the entire bulk package & freeze individually. Saves time when making chili, tacos etc. It also takes up less space in the freezer

Spaghetti

When I make noodles for spaghetti, I cook up extra noodles, put them in a zip loc bag and toss in the freezer. When I make chili, I put the frozen noodles in the chili thus savings the time it would take to make them.
