Keeping Lettuce Fresh

When you get a new head of lettuce, take it out of the wrapper & put it in a stainless steel bowl. I put a SCOTT Towel folded up in the bottom to stabilize it. Cover the bowl in plastic cling wrap and put it in the back of the refrigerator. It will stay fresh until the whole head is used up. My grandfather taught me this trick & it has saved me many wasted heads of lettuce. Only wash & use what you want when you need it & then put the head back in the bowl with the cling wrap. I've had heads of lettuce last a month this way.

Keep Me Frozen/Cold

I have a folding cooler I purchased several years ago. I leave this in the trunk of my car, so when I go on my shopping trips, I can store the frozen food and meats in there together. They stay frozen/cool and I can go to the next store and know they will be fine. If I am planning a big shopping trip with numerous stops, I put my big cooler in the trunk. It saves gas and time being able to do all of those errands at the same time without having to run home.
