Healthy, Fun, Kids' Snacks

Here's a quick lunch or snack idea that kids will love: Cut the top off an apple and core the middle of the apple. Fill the core with healthy things, such as raisins, peanuts, applesauce, pudding, yogurt, cereal, carrot sticks or anything healthy that will fit. Put the top back onto the apple and wrap the apple with colorful cellophane. You can even tie it with a colorful string or ribbon and add a loving note or fun joke. It is economical, healthy, and your child won't forget it. I call it "Our Secret Snack Pack."

Storing Christmas Lights

Trying to put Christmas lights away so they won't break is so hard. Then, unpacking them for the next year is just as difficult. Try this: Save your SCOTT® Towel tubes and wrap your light strands around them. Just tuck the ends of the light strands in the ends of the tubes. It keeps them safe from breaking and you can use them longer. Plus, they won't be tangled up for the next year.

Sanitizing Carpets

To freshen up my carpets, I sprinkle baking soda onto them, wait 10 minutes, then vacuum. I also use baby powder from time to time, for a fresher scent.

Sanitizing Sponges

Make your kitchen sponges last longer by sanitizing them from time to time. I take the sponges, wet them with water and put dish soap on them, then I put them into my microwave for 4 minutes. Let them cool before touching them. Then, the germs are gone, and I can reuse them.
