renew markers

This is a good tip for parents and teachers. Markers seem to dry out fast. Before buying new ones try dipping them in distilled vinegar. Dab/dry off the excess and test before using on paper.

Wash That Filter!

Most people clean the lint off the filter after each use of the clothes dryer, but once or twice a month, that same filter needs to be washed with soapy water to rid it of an invisible film that comes from dryer sheets we use as fabric softeners. Before you wash it, pour water on the mesh and just see how much film has accumulated! If that's not cleaned off by washing, it makes drying time longer.

Waiting Room Magazines

Next time you visit the Dr.'s or Dentist's office or any waiting room, take a magazine with you that you've already read from cover to cover and plan to leave it when your visit is over. That way you won't feel guilty for "borrowing" the one you were in the middle of an article of when your name was called.

How to Handle RECALLS

With so many recalls on food products, we don't always get the warning until after we've repackaged our meat for freezing. Now when I repackage a food product, I put it in freezer bags and on the outside of package I tape the original label to the back side of package. This label contains date and code numbers needed to identify a possible recall.

Preserving Milk

When milk is on sale, buy extra and freeze it. It turns a yucky green, but when thawed out is just as fresh and white as the day you bought it. Half gallon sizes are better but gallon sizes can be used also.

Eating Healthy Bacon

I use Scott® paper towels under my turkey bacon, when I cook it in the microwave. All turkey grease is absorbed.

Clipping Coupons

I work every day in an outside job. It is relaxing to clip my coupons in the evenings & organize them.
