Blankets & Bungie cords

Storing extra blankets on high shelves is difficult. Roll the bedding and secure with a bungie cord. Then you can store them on those high shelves and they are easier to see, and easier to remove without the whole stack tumbling down.

cleaning up a big puddle of water

I had a big water puddle in the basement. Using a sponge mop was too slow so I cut the elastic on a couple disposable diapers, put them face down in the puddle and VOILA no more water, and they didn't drip!

Season Packet Organization

Homemade Wet Wipes

To make your own wet wipes simply take the center cardboard out of the middle of a roll of paper towels. Cut the roll in half. Use an empty coffee container. Put the half roll of paper towls in the can. Add enough water to dampen towels all the way through. Voila! Instant wipes for baby bottoms, traveling, just about anything!

Pitch the Tree Pitch

If you get pitch on your hands when working in your yard or getting the winter's wood in, use rubbing alcohol from the bathroom. Wash the dirt off your hands, dry them on SCOTT® Towels and get the bottle of rubbing alcohol out. Use very little, rubbing your hands together, and presto -- it's gone. To finish, use soap and water again. If pitch is on your clothes, lay the garmet on the table, place several sheets of newspaper between the front and back of the garment, and pour rubbing alcohol on the spot. Use a small brush and brush vigorously. Then "pitch" it in the washing machine right away. All the mess is down the drain.

Saving the Last of the Lipstick

When your lipstick gets too far down in the tube to use on the lips, use a cotton swab to get the last out and use as a creme blush. It's already a color you know you like, and you don't want it to go to waste.
