freezer bags

I haven't tried this yet, just thought of it the other day. To reuse freezer bags for meat or anything else without having to wash them, well why not use the plastic bag you get at the grocery stores you use to put produce in. Put your meat in it first then in the freezer bag. Just make sure the bag doesn't have any holes. Save$$$$$$

Saving Paper Towels

I buy white cotton dish towels to use in my kitchen for drying dishes, wiping down counter tops etc. Every day I throw that dish towel into my bleach load. I use my SCOTT paper towels for germy dirty work. It is good for the environment and cost effective as well.

Recycle water

Don't throw the water away that you boil your eggs in. Let it cool and give it to your house plants. The nourishing water with nutrients from the egg shells gives your plants a good feeding. Even better, crush up the eggshells and let sit in the water for a while before giving it to the plants. They will thrive.

If You Can't Beat 'em...Join 'em

Why waste your breathe trying to get teens and college-agers to put things in the hamper? Likely, they always leave clutter in the same place. Put their hamper where they tend to drop their clothes. Put a coat tree next to it. They will automatically toss clean things on the rack and dirties in the hamper. Put a nice size basket where their shoes always wind up...now, if they STILL don't pick up after themselves; take the car keys, video games and cell phone away!

Wash & Reuse

One wash day I accidentally put a Scott® towel in with my laundry wash. I was amazed that it did not fall apart. Now, if they get too dirty, I throw them in. When they are clean I place them in a bag in the laundry room. I use them to clean the door and top of my washer and dryer, as well as any quick wipe ups needed.

Space Saver

we often have 2 liter plastic drink bottles, and have found that if we remove the cap and crush the bottle it takes less space in trash can, even in the recycle bin.
