Packing for Kids

When packing for a trip with small children, place each outfit (including underwear and socks) in a gallon-size plastic bag. Each day, they only need to pick out a bag, and everything that goes together is ready to wear. Place dirty clothes back in the bag for the return trip so nothing gets lost.

I did this every year when my kids went to summer camp. It kept the clean clothes dry in those huge shower stalls, and they didn't lose socks or underware. One complete outfit in each bag. I didn't have to wonder if they matched things!

What a great idea! I'm going to use it for my 87 year old father when we travel. Thanks for alleviating a bit of stress for this care-giver!

When I travel I put my things into 2 1/2 gal bags. When the inspector opens my suitcase he can see and feel my clothes without touching everything. When I unpack I have all my undies in one bag, tees in another and it makes the process much easier.

Great Idea! I have 20 month old twins and will put this to work right away with their extra clothes in the diaper bag! Thanks for sharing!
