Drain off the Grease

SCOTT® Towels on a roll are durable, handy in the kitchen, and help keep meals healthy. After you brown ground beef, drain off the extra grease using a SCOTT® Towel and a colander. Simply line the colander with a sheet of SCOTT® Towel, pour in the browned meat, let it sit for a minute or two, then return the beef to the pan and continue your recipe. Don't throw the towel in the trash! Add it to your compost pile for your garden. This way you really do save money for future kitchen problems that could occur from too much grease in the pipes. It also helps to keep your water supply healthy by not adding grease to our rivers and streams.

Oh my! Never throw grease or meat products in the garden compost. Invites dogs and cats and does not degrade like food wastes. Put it and the paper towel in an empty vegtable can and refrigerate until garbage day. Then put it out in the trash in a plastic grocery bag to prevent it from soiling your garbage can.
