When I buy a new appliance, I glue a litt1e piece of velcro to the booklet and the appliance. When I need maintenance for the appliance, no searching for the booklet,it's right there. This is a time saver for me.
When your little one has a hard time doing their homework...discuss with them how much homework they have for the night and reward them with some playtime and a healthy snack. Playtime should be something they love to do and should not be longer than 15-20 minutes per subject, and you will find that they concentrate better on the homework longer and longer as the days go by. This works especially well with children that have ADD and ADHD, but others will benefit from it as well. It saves arguments and keeps peace in the family at homework time.
After you get the clothes out of the dryer, hang your entire outfit together. This way all you have to do is grab one hanger and you are ready to go!
Most people clean the lint off the filter after each use of the clothes dryer, but once or twice a month, that same filter needs to be washed with soapy water to rid it of an invisible film that comes from dryer sheets we use as fabric softeners. Before you wash it, pour water on the mesh and just see how much film has accumulated! If that's not cleaned off by washing, it makes drying time longer.
For a cool brownie treat, make brownies as directed. Melt chocolate mint patties
in double broiler and pour over warm brownies.. Let set for a wonderful minty frosting.
To really make scrambled eggs or omelettes rich add a couple of spoonfuls of sour cream, cream cheese, or heavy cream in and then beat them up.
Store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminum foil. It will stay fresh much longer and not mold!
Our family members use a safety pin to pin their dirty socks together for washing and drying. I keep extra pins handy in places likely to be a "sock changing site." Saves SO much time when putting clean clothes away.
