I enjoy some cake for a snack occassionally. But living alone, I don't often make a full-size mix unless it's for a special occassion. Instead, I keep the small Jiffy cakes in my cabinet. Rather than pull out my mixer & bowl, I mix the cake by whisk in a square glass dish. Make sure the dish is clean & dry then use cooking spray. Add the egg & water together & whisk well, adding the cake mix little by little until mixed completely. Pop it in the oven & you've got cake, with very little cleanup. Yum!
When frying bacon I always fry more than I need, then drain into SCOTT paper towels. When cooled I put the bacon in a ziplock bag and throw in the refrigerator for when I need bacon for salads, cheese burgers, green beans what ever you want a little bacon in.
Keep your clean socks pinned together with a safety pin. When you wash them, the socks never get separated. Easy to fold and put away because sock is already matched. No more lost socks and less time putting away aundry.
Years ago I would get a bucket and a mop out twice a day when our dogs were menustrating. Now I just use a wipe a couple of times a day and the floor stays clean.
I bought a cheap group of plastic nested baskets ..in them I stocked my batteries...D,C,A,AA,AAA, AND 9volt and placed in my T.V. armoir... now when a remote, game console or ceiling fan battery needs replacement...no more hunting the house down they are all in one place.
Instead of using a knife and fork to cut pancakes, I use a pizza cutter. It cuts through a stack of pancakes easily and is less messy.

I save the butter tubs and then have them to give to single neighbors and some friends that live alone and never have to worry about getting my containers back. That size is just great for small servings for one.
