Antique Cars

We have several antique cars that we take to car shows. We keep a roll of SCOTT towels in each of them to freshen them up every morning after the dew. They are even soft enough for that. Fast and easy too!

Cleaning a Hummingbird Feeder

When cleaning hummingbird feeders, we're supposed to avoid chemicals and they are to be cleaned regularly due to dangerous mold build-up. An easy way to wash out the inside of the bottle is to put in a SCOTT towel with a little plain water and swirl it around. Voila - it's clean!

Saving Time When Painting

When varnishing or painting, save time between coats by wrapping the brush in a SCOTT Towel and putting it in the freezer until you're ready for the next coat. It saves cleaning and extends the life of the brush.

Checking the Oil in My Car

I hung a roll of paper towels in the front of the garage. When checking the oil in the car, it is so easy to just tear off a towel and toss it in the trash when finished rather than searching for a rag.

Paint Rollers Like New

If you are painting over several days and need to dry out your rollers after cleaning so you don't have to keep buying new ones, try this. Once the rollers cleaned out, put them on top of your outdoor air conditioner unit and lay a rake over the top of them. The air flow blowing out will dry your rollers and the rake will allow them to be blown dry without being blown off the unit.

Make Iced Tea Quicker

For years, I have made iced tea, almost on a daily basis. I always remove the tag or take the bag out of the packet and count the tea bags. When you're in a hurry, this takes time. Next time you purchase tea bags, remove bags right away and put 1/2 total tea bags on one side and the others on the other side, with the strings joining in the center. Tie the two bundles together and store in a canister. Then, when you're ready to make tea, just pull out the bundle and it's ready to use.

Washing Windows

Make a pail of hot, soapy water using a grease-cutting dishwashing liquid. Sponge the window down with the soapy water and wipe it clean with a towel. It doesn't leave streaks and requires little elbow grease.

Removing Rusty Screws

You can save time and effort by rubbing oil on a rusty screw before trying to remove it. Let the oil soak into the screw for a few minutes before trying to unscrew it.
