Extra Meal Prep

When cutting up those veggies for a meal, cut up a few extra each time. Collect and store them in a zip-top bag in the freezer until the bag is full and you need a quick dinner! Stir fry those veggies, add rice/noodles or even leftover meat. It's easy enough to adapt to whatever meal size you need! Enjoy!

Microwave Baked Potato

Place small microwave safe cup of water in corner of microwave, do not touch sides & potato on microwave safe plate/paper towel, press baked potato button or cook according to owner manual. Potato comes out moist & delicious not dry & yucky.

Pancake/French Toast Cutter

When you make pancakes or French toast for your kids, use a pizza cutter to cut them easily into bite-size pieces, then add the syrup. It's fast and easy, and doesn't make a mess.

Easy Cheese Slicing

To slice soft or processed cheeses easily, spray both sides of your knife with nonstick cooking spray. I always cube the cheese before melting it for dips, and this speeds up the process considerably.

SCOTT to the Rescue in the Kitchen

I needed cheese cloth to strain vegetables and seasoning from a thick broth and didn't have cheesecloth in the house. I used SCOTT SHOP TOWELS ON A ROLL. They turned out to be quite sturdy and did the job quite well -- so well indeed that I used them when needed to strain my homemade jelly. Simply use them as you would cheese cloth, then discard in your compost pile for next year's garden. They are less expensive than cheese cloth too.

Ground Meat

I buy ground meat in bulk. Since I don`t need all of it, I cut it into portions and freeze it in freezer bags. After it is in the portion size, I place a plate on it and mash it as flat as I can in the freezer bag. This makes it faster to defrost and cook. It also stacks better in the freezer. I simply place the flattened bags on cookie sheets until frozen. This has saved me time and stress when I am in a hurry to make dinner.

Homemade Baby Food

When my son was a baby, he refused to eat jar baby food. He would actually gag! So I had to make 'gourmet' baby food. It was actually a great money and time saver. I would cook dinner and would remove his portion before I seasoned the rest. I would then puree the food in the blender. (You can add baby cereal or baby rice or even mashed potatoes to thicken it.) I would then fill an ice tray 3/4 full with the pureed food and place it in the freezer overnight. You then pop out what you need for a meal. It thaws in no time. And he liked it!

Easy Grill Cleaning

To clean your countertop grill, fold two SCOTT Towels to fit the grill, then get them damp. Place the towels on the grill while it's still warm and close the top. Wait two or three minutes before removing the towels. Your grill will be clean!
