Keep Your Pet's Water Colder Longer

I like to try to keep my cat's water chilled for a long time, so I take a plastic cereal bowl, fill it half-way with some warm tap water and put it in the freezer until it freezes solid. Then I run it under warm water to pop it out and put the ice block in a tin cat or dog dish that's a little bigger than the block of ice. I pour some water over it until the ice cracks, so they won't get scared, then fill it up with cold water. It stays colder longer!

Urine Odors

Take a bottle of rubbing alcohol and pour it on any urine or other odors that just will not go away. When it dries on it's own, the smell goes away. It kills any germs and is safe for the family.

SCOTT in the Barn

I keep a roll of SCOTT Towels in the horse barn. They are great, not only for cleaning up, but also if you have a horse that gets a cut that needs cleaning.

Get Rid of Cat Hair

Cat hair is one of the hardest things to get off area rugs. I used to sweep them with a broom before vacuuming, but it still wasn't satisfactory. I finally found that using a wire pet brush works best, especially the type sold in pet stores that lets you retract the bristles so the matted hair pulls off easily.

Easier Dog Bathing

When bathing our small dog, I find it easier to use a thin plastic garbage can filled with warm water. I put the can inside the bath tub. I save my back by sitting on the side of the tub. He uses his paws to prop himself up on the side of the garbage can. I also get less water on me!

Dryer Sheets and My Pet

Dryer sheets are good for a lot more than clothes. I like to put a couple dryer sheets under Sugar's puppy pad and one or two around it, and this makes everything smell terrific. Sugar also likes the wonderful smell. Caution-this may not be good for puppies. My Sugar is 9 years old.
