Removing Ink

If you find that you have an ink mark on your clothes, all you have to do is be sure to spray the area with hairspray until you can "see" the ink coming off; do this just before you wash the item. I used to work at a copy place, so I know for a fact that this works. It doesn't matter what kind of hairspray.

WASHER FILTER

Put an old nylon stocking on the end of your washer hose, it filters out lint so this doesn't do down your drain-which in time can lead to build-up.

Cleaning the Dryer lint basket

You can use an old baby bottle brush tied to a string as a handle for extending the brush down into the area where the lint may be; you can also use the string hanging it up. You can also brush the actual lint trap using the baby bottle brush. Lint comes off quicker and faster!

How to remove blood

I was in the ER due to cutting the tip of my finger with a knife and the wash rag I had wrapped around my finger was totally soaked with blood. I told my husband to throw it away, and the doctor spoke up and said, "Just take it home and soak it in a sink with peroxide!" So we did, and the blood disappeared right before our eyes! Just like a science experiment! We've used the tip several times since then - worked! Give it a try; but I hope you don't cut yourself bad!

Ink Removal

To get rid of ink marks on your clothing, simply spray the area well with any inexpensive hairspray (pump bottle gives you a more direct spray than aerosol) and wipe with an old wash cloth or towel. You may have to repeat the process again, but it will take the ink out.

smoke odor in material

To remove the smoke odor from material try - 1 cup baking soda ,1 cup vinegar and some laundry detergent to your washer and wash as normal. Add softener as usual. Repeat if necessary. Use laundry detergent in washer and run it thru a cycle to get the odor out of the washer. While the washer is filling with the detergent and water , take a cloth and put it in the washer to get the soap and water on it and clean the inside of your dryer too. That way you will get rid of the smoke odor out of washer and dryer at the same time.

If You Can't Beat 'em...Join 'em

Why waste your breathe trying to get teens and college-agers to put things in the hamper? Likely, they always leave clutter in the same place. Put their hamper where they tend to drop their clothes. Put a coat tree next to it. They will automatically toss clean things on the rack and dirties in the hamper. Put a nice size basket where their shoes always wind up...now, if they STILL don't pick up after themselves; take the car keys, video games and cell phone away!
