Easy Microwave Cleaning

To clean your microwave, first remove any racks. Crumple up and dampen or spray 2 or 3 SCOTT Towels with water. Place dampened towels in the microwave and turn it on for about 20 seconds. Open the door and use the Towels to wipe off the inside of the door and interior of microwave. It easily removes most splatters. Repeat with fresh towels if necessary. CAUTION: Towels may be steamy hot to the touch for several seconds.

Plumbers Hate This...

If your pan has a bit of grease left in it, rather than wash it down the drain, wipe it out with a SCOTT Towel and toss the towel. No plugged up sinks!

Shiny Stainless Steel Cookware

When the bottom of your stainless cookware gets cloudy (like when you cook pasta), don't use a cleanser or products made for cleaning stainless steel cookware. Take your green bottle of Real Lemon or Lime 100% Juice and squirt it in the bottom of the pan. Take a SCOTT® Towel and swish it around to cover the bottom of the pan and let it sit for one or two mintues. Take the Towel and wipe the pan clean, then rinse. Shiny as new! Someone told me about this, and I only tried it because I just knew it wouldn't work -- but was I ever surprised!

Easy-off Grill Cleaning

After using my countertop grill, I wet a paper towel and lay it on the warm, unplugged grill. I close the lid. The moisture helps loosen any residue and makes for easy cleaning when doing the dishes and clean up.

Sparkling Shower Walls

I was disgusted with the filthy condition of a shower in the house I moved into, so I used car cut/wax to safely remove the grit and grime. I then applied Gel Gloss, a product used to polish fiberglass boats (and prevent salt and other build-ups). Now water beads up on my shower walls. I just give it a quick wipe with the used bath towel or SCOTT® Towels to absorb the water beads. These two steps took a bit of elbow grease at first, but it has been over a year now, so it was well worth it. The shower is spotless after a quick wipe dry.

Keep Stainless Steel Spotless

Tired of fingerprints and smears on your beautiful stainless steel large and small appliances? Dab some commom mineral oil on a SCOTT® Towel and wipe the surfaces. This removes the smudges and conditions the stainless steel to prevent spots from reappearing so quickly. It's very economical too, vs. store-bought polishes. It works well on any brushed nickel you have, such as coffee table legs.

Getting Rid of Water Stains

The best way to get rid of the marks left by standing water that form in the toilet or in the bottom of a shower stall is to use a pumice stone. Rub the pumice stone over the marks. They will be rubbed away and won’t leave scratch marks! Test a small area in your shower to be sure.

Your Sink Disposal

When your sink disposal starts to get smelly, just cut half of a lemon up and put it down into your disposal, then turn it on. The juice from the lemon helps clean and make it smell much better.
