being safe in cold weather

Winter's here and you never know if something may happen to your car. Our car is older, and I don't take a chance if the car should break down. So, in our car and in my daughter's, hats scarves and gloves are at our convenience if something should happen. Better safe than sorry!

Save your cell phone

I keep my cell in it's own little pocket in my purse so it doesn't get scratched up & I add one of those little moisture packets in the pocket with it(the ones that are in purses when you buy them). I'm in S. FL and it gets very humid which is bad for cell batteries, so the packet keeps it dry!!

Waiting Room Magazines

Next time you visit the Dr.'s or Dentist's office or any waiting room, take a magazine with you that you've already read from cover to cover and plan to leave it when your visit is over. That way you won't feel guilty for "borrowing" the one you were in the middle of an article of when your name was called.

Music for the Elderly

When you have an elderly parent that has passed away donate their CDs, DVDs etc to the local nursing home. Why not reuse these items and give someone else some listening joy? Excess funeral flowers can be donated also and cut into individual bouquets for the patients!

Waste Not

My family joined a health club to exercise and use their pool for exercise. I've alway's been concerned with recycling, and noticed the health club has trash/can/glass container's right outside the building. We save a bag full or recyclables and take it with us when we go to exercise. The health club makes a little cash-which add's up, and we get rid of our garbage.

Just for You

Be sure to divide your "to do" list in half while jotting it down. Keep the right side for those things that you've done already -- even the routine ones that you do without a list, out of habit. It's a feel-good thing and may surprise you at how important those things you've accomplished might have been.

Memories

Whenever I read a nice poem or an article that makes me feel thankful for life, or a piece that I think my kids and grandkids would like to read or would put a smile on their faces, I save it or copy it and put it in my "Memories" file. It's in the file cabinet, labeled "Hey, kids, read this someday." Hopefully, it will help them when they go through "a season of sadness" in their lives someday.

Today

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Turn it over to God for refuge and He will take care of you and make sure you are safe.
