Perfect Pastry Crust

The secret to making delicious, flakey pastry crust is to use frozen butter. I use frozen butter sticks and a handheld cheese grater. It crumbs the butter perfectly for the pastry crust. Living in a warm climate the butter softens quickly, but the frozen stick keeps its crumbled shape better.

Trouble Opening A Jar?

Most everyone has a personal computer, that can serve a dual purpose. Mouse pads can do double duty by helping open stuck jars. The rubber bottom grips the jar while the top provides a soft and flexible surface to apply enough pressure to open those difficult jars.

Homemade Wet Wipes

To make your own wet wipes simply take the center cardboard out of the middle of a roll of paper towels. Cut the roll in half. Use an empty coffee container. Put the half roll of paper towls in the can. Add enough water to dampen towels all the way through. Voila! Instant wipes for baby bottoms, traveling, just about anything!

Pumping Your Own Gas

Do not leave your purse/handbag/billfold on the seat of your car when you have to go inside the store to pay for you purchase of gasoline. Either take your keys out and lock your vehicle, or take your purse with you. Also, whenever I drive anywhere, I always set my purse out of sight on the floor.

Cell Phones and Driving

PLEASE... In your vehicle, if you just HAVE to talk on your cell phone, then pull off the street/road and park your car somewhere and do your talking. We'll all be safer for it.

SCOTT® Towels in the Kitchen

When storing lettuce, I fold a couple of SCOTT® Towels under the lettuce. It absorbes the water and keeps the lettuce crisp.
