Dining on the Road

Keep two freezer bags in the car glovebox. In one, add restaurant coupons. In the other, folded menus from your favorite diners. (The phone number will be on it so you can call ahead, if you want.)

Pack Lightly

When you travel and have limited space or number of bags, put things like face moisturizer and cleanser in old contact lens cases. They take up less space than travel-size or full-size bottle and tubes.

Finding Travel-size Grooming Aids

When opening the little boxes containing the small, travel-size tubes of grooming products, save the box and staple down the little ends of the box to the side. Then after using the product on your trip, put the tube back in its identifying box and into a poly zip-top bag. The box makes the container easier to see. At home, the product will be easier to find in a drawer and will be ready for your next trip.

Grocery coupon pockets

I wear a denim shirt with two front pockets when I go grocery shopping. I put all the coupons I plan to use in the right pocket. If the grocery store is out of an item, I put the coupon in the left pocket to use the following week.

Errands

I made index cards for all my regular errand stops (post office, pharmacy, dry cleaner, etc.) If I need to remember to stop at the pharmacy on my way home from work, I just put the pharmacy index card on my dashboard to remind me.

Ready, Set, Swim!

Always keep a change of clothes, bottled water, sunscreen, and beach towels in the car so that you''re prepared for a spontaneous swim or trip to the beach.

Organize jewelry

I love jewerly -- and to keep my jewelry organized and away from other pieces, I put each piece in teh smallest clear baggie I can find. It's great for traveling too, you can see each piece you brought with and keep it organized.

Sorting Panties & Socks

Ikea sells a plastic bag holder that comes in clear or pink. It's plastic and hangs on the wall. I bought 4 pink ones and hung them on the wall in my closet. I put white socks in one, black/misc. socks in another, everyday work panties in one, and cute panties in the last one. It's easy to pull out the pair you want through the dispenser and you can see them all to choose the one you want. Plus it is super quick when putting away clean laundry.
