Crushed Toilet Paper Roll

I have been using Scott 1000 toilet paper for years, which I usually buy in the 12 pack. Sometimes the corner rolls are crushed. Most of the time they can be rounded out by hand. Sometimes, however, the inner carboard roll will not remain circular and the paper becomes hard to dispense in the usual manner. A thin plastic cylinder inserted between the cardboard roll and the spring axle does the trick. I made one by cutting off the top and the bottom of a 2 1/2 inch (high) by 1 1/4 inch (diameter) orange plastic prescription vial. One must remember to save the plastic when putting on a new role. The simplest way is to use it even when not needed. This way it is always available.

Dish Towel Organization

To save space, fold dish towels in half lengthwise, fold in half again, and roll towel up. Saves space in drawers and it's easier to find just the one you want.

Cleaning Out The Closet

When I organize my closet, I put all the hangers facing out. When I wear something, after it's washed, I place it back in the closet with the hanger facing in. After six months, anything with the hanger still facing out goes to Goodwill. That way I keep what I wear and see what I really don't wear.

Cookie Tin Ornament Keeper

An empty Christmas cookie tin makes a great storage place for delicate or special "homemade" ornaments from your children or grandchildren! Wrap delicates with SCOTT® Towels and place in appropriate size tin. Place special "homemades" between towels for extra protection and place in tin. Tins are usually received as gifts so no expense there and being tin, they are extra sturdy. Place a label on top and you know exactly what's in it next year. It's worked great for me for years!

Clear Plastic Folder Pouch For Menu Holder

I collect menus from all the restaurants that I go to and keep them in a clear pouch folder with my phone books. Then if I want to order something to go, each menu is stored with prices. Descriptions are available too. This is nice for out of town company to preview before going out to eat. It also saves time on deciding what to order!

Food Storage Containers Become Refrigerator Organizers

I use the small rectangle food storage containers without theirs lids as side door organizers for those extra salad dressing, ketchup, mayo, mustard and jelly that you get with takeout food. Instead of tossing them out, why not organize them in the side door of your refrigerator. Think of the money you will save. You can ask for two salad dressing packs and have one for your next individual salad. Also neat for packable lunches!

Computer Cords Such As USB's Etc.

I have so many USB cords that go to things like my camera, my microphone, etc. When I try to get to one, they are all tangled up. I got those ties from trash bags that I don't use and tie the cords up with it. If the tie is too short just twist two together. It keeps everything so nice and organized and easy to get to whatever I need.

Save Your Cookware

Don't have enough room to hang all your cookware? Worried that if you stack your pots and pans you'll scratch them? Use (after washing) plastic tops from tubs of butter, or any top that you can lay on the bottom of the pan you're going to stack another pan on. Scratch free cookware without spending a lot of money or buying fancy gadgets.
