When my children's rooms have reached that "I can't see the floor" stage, I announce that in 15 minutes we will have our "three pile party." All they have to do is sit there and say, YES (keep it)...NO...or MAYBE. I hold up each piece of clothing and they say which pile it goes in. Making this event as humorous as possible makes a rather boring job go quickly, and it cleans out a room or drawer in minutes. A little bit of "their" music helps!
Before going to the grocery store, arrange your coupons in the order of the way you shop the aisles. This way, you don't have to shuffle through the coupons to see instructions for sizes and quantities while you shop.
I always store cookies, crackers, chips and cereal in plastic storage containers to keep them fresh, so I never have to throw out stale food.
Each year I save the Christmas cards I received in a box with all my Christmas stuff and Voila, I don't have to worry about making a list of who to send cards to as I just send them to the people who sent me a card the previous year!
Recycle the plastic tab used for sealing bread bags by tucking it under the sticky end of masking, duct or sealing tape. It makes it easier to find the end of the tape and doesn't waste any tape!
