I use the drawstring bags that come with some sheet sets, pj sets, etc. to store socks that don't have a mate. Then whenever I do laundry, I can check socks with the ones in the bag to see if there are any matches. After a few weeks, I turn any unmatched socks into dust cloths for the house.
I save all the return address labels from my holiday cards, and tape them into an address book (or you could use a notebook). When I need to send a holiday card or birthday day cards during the year, I have everything, including the zip code +4. It is very handy to have this nearby.
We have color coded plastic bins that hold our holiday/seasonal decorations. While clearing the shelves/walls of daily decor (to be temporarily replaced by the holiday decorations), I place them into the bin I'm unloading and wrap them with SCOTT Towels. This not only saves space, time and trying to remember where I put a certain item later on, though the paper towels are right there to use for cleaning post-holiday windows and wiping down/dusting the holiday decorations to be packed.
When you finish a role of SCOTT Towels, instead of throwing it out, get the kids to decorate it and stuff your grocery bags in it. It saves space around the house, you won't waste bags, and you give the kids something to do.
For every new thing you get, set something else aside to donate to charity
I have a 3-ring notebook with plastic covers in which I keep my title to the car, insurance papers and other things, so they're at my fingertips if needed.
I put my recipes on an index card, then put them in a small photo album. This way, they stay clean and easy to find.
I like to wash and clean my vegetables when I get home from the grocery store. I put SCOTT Towels in the plastic storage bags to absorb any water left on the produce.
