Life's True Treasures

I have a decorative treasure box as part of a room decor where I store all my special cards, notes, and letters from family and friends that I want to keep. This is my true treasure and I like to open it every once in a while to remind myself that I am loved.

Organize Your Hair Ties

To better organize my daughters' scrunchies and elastic bands, I put them on a paper towel roll. This way I can pull them out of the drawer fast and organize them according to color.

Season Packet Organization

I use a meatloaf pan to store all of my seasoning packets. They fit in the pan perfectly, it's so easy to flip through them, and the pan fits nicely in the cupboard.

Sewing Notions

Save baby food jars, large pill containers, any small screw-lid containers for storing salvaged buttons, zippers and decorative items from clothing that will not be donated. Store buttons by color for using on another garment or as decoration on a craft item. It's especially cost-saving for home sewers who know how expensive notions can be.

Reusable Bags

I put foam board at the bottom of my reusable shopping bags. The thin plastic bottom that comes with most of them cracks easily. The foam board makes the bags sturdier when filling up with groceries.

Magic Marker

I keep a Sharpie Marker in my silverware drawer. It is always handy for marking storage bags, etc. with the contents of foods for storage. Don't forget to include the date you are storing it too. This is especially helpful for leftovers in the refrigerator. Some things have a pretty long shelf life, but it is still helpful to know how long it has been in there before using.

Save Those Blanket Bags

When I buy comforters or large blankets that come in clear large plastic bags, I save the bags to store my artificial Christmas wreaths that I want to use again next year. These bags are also good for bulky sweater storage in summer.
