For easy recycling day

Use different size plastic trash cans (short for cans and tall for plastics). Line trash can with yard plastic bags. Cut one indentation on the lid so that cans or bottles be dropped in while the lid is securely fastened.

Where Are Those Shoes?

If you're on your knees on your closet floor looking for "that" pair of shoes, you have too many. Every time you go after "that" pair or shoes, discard or donate any you don't like anymore. Don't forget to "JUNK THE JUNK."

Clean out that Closet

Too many clothes? Put a "donation" box on the closet floor. Every time you open your closet door to get something, put something you haven't worn in a while into the box. Once you've cleaned out your closet, call the charity of your choice to pick up the boxes. It's a tax-deduction too!

Nuts & Bolts

For the best organization of nuts, bolts, nails & other misc. items try using empty grated Parmasean Cheese containers. Simply wash containers, remove labels & you have inexpensive, clear, flip-top storage containers for easy organization.

Family Directory

We have a large family. I created a spreadsheet that I update each year. The spreadsheet has each family's name (including children), address, telephone and mobile numbers, and e-mail address. Makes sending Christmas cards a lot easier.
