Write down who sent you Christmas cards and who you sent them to. When you pack everything away after the holidays, place the list in the box.

Collect all of your receipts for holiday purchases in one folder so that when you have to return things, everything is organized in one place.

Catalog Dates

Whenever a new catalog comes in the mail, I write its expiration date on the front cover with black marker. Then I file the catalogs with the closest expiration dates in the front. It makes it very easy to know when they are out of date.

Untangled Lights and Garland

When putting away your strings of mini-lights and/or strands of garland, coil them carefully. Then take large twist ties and twist them around the coils. Mark the end to start with next year using a bright colored piece of leftover gift ribbon.

Organized Santa

I wrap my gifts ahead of time and put each into a gigantic plastic bag separated by name. The gifts stay clean and it's easy to make neat piles of presents under the tree.

Shop Around for Camps

Many churches offer day camps each summer. Kids love to be with their friends (or make new ones) and lots of activities keep them happy. Some camps may be better organized and enriching than others, so shop around!

Neat cord storage

Those empty cardboard rolls are super for storing cables, extension and electrical cords, Just fold the cords in an elongated shape (like an 8, without the crossover) and inset it in the empty roll, then write its description on the ouside such as length or what utensil or device it belongs to, Christmas tree lights, etc. Eliminates tangles which are bad for cords. PS - Scott tubes are best because they're strongest.

Bow Savers

Want to save your large, decorative Christmas bows for next year? Take plastic grocery bags and put in each part of the bow. Bows store better, keep their shape and won't get smashed. You can keep your bows from year to year and get to spend your money on other things.
