Bill Paying Reminder

Keep a calendar in the kitchen. In order to remember to pay my bills on time I always put the due dates and amounts on the calendar when I receive my bills. This way I don't forget to pay them. Also after they are paid, I mark them paid.

Changing Furnace Filters

I use good quality filters for our furnace. They say they last 3 months, but I try and change them a little sooner due to having dogs in the house. I write on the calendar the day I change them, and I also write on the filter itself the day I change them. This way I have two ways to keep up when I need to change them!

Bathtub Toys

Instead of buying expensive, cute bath toy organizers, discount stors have these crates for $1. Put them in the tub and water can drain through them. They don't rust and the toys dry easily! I also have a few to store lids for mugs and sippy cups. Then just pull the crate down and they're all in place.

No More Lost Baby Socks

When you take off baby's socks pin them together with a safety pin. Then when you wash them wash in a lingerie bag. None get lost and there's no matching required.

Keeping Screws Organized

If you have to remove screws from something you are repairing and there are many different ones from different sections, label a piece of masking tape for the part they came out of. Then stick the screws to the tape. It sure makes it fast and easy to put the screws back on, plus the screws stay put and don't get lost while you are working!

Old Nylon Stockings

If you use old pantyhose under slacks or for craft projects, it can be hard to distinguish between pantyhose that have runs in them and ones that are still good. Just pin a safety pin in the waist of the ones that have runs.

Needles & Pins

Use empty mint tins to hold pins or other small items. Glue a flat wooden stick (like the ones used in ice cream pops) to a flat magnet and use it to pick up stray pins from the floor or your workspace.
