Put recipes on index cards and store them in a small photo album to keep them neat and clean.
Buy an extra address book for businesses. Rather than filing the information by the company name, file it under the type of business. That way, if you forget the name of the lawn service, you just have to look under lawn. You can tape business cards in the address book to save time copying information too. You can also make notes regarding warranties, coupons and refunds. This will make it easier for friends or family to help out should you become ill.
I had an old Pampered Chef utensil holder, and I washed it up and put it in the bathroom. There are five in my family, so I labled each spot with someone's name, and now it works great for everyone's toothbrush, flossers and toothpaste. Any kitchen caddy with dividers works great -- not only for toothbrushes, but for make-up or hair brushes too.
I put a small piece of masking tape on cords stating what they are for (such as weather radio, blower for air mattress, etc.). It makes finding them much easier when you don't use them every day.
As a nurse, I require lots of things in my pockets for daily use. They include ink pens, lipstick, a work phone, sunglasses, extra paper, scissors, change, a pager, name badge, car keys and a few other items. Recently I started emptying my pockets into a quart-sized freezer bag when I come home, then all I need to do in the morning when I leave is pick up the bag and go.
Now that we are retired, we use a plastic shoe box and put all our daily medications in it. We keep it in the pantry and bring it to the table after breakfast. It's very convenient for us.
USE A STRAW TO KEEP NECKLACE CHAINS FROM TANGLING. EVEN BENDY STRAWS WORK WELL. JUST CUT A SMALL SLIT IN THE END OF THE STRAW AND FEED THE CHAIN THROUGH THE STRAW. AT THE OTHER END OF THE STRAW WILL BE THE DECORATION ON YOUR NECKLACE; SO CUT A SLIT IN THAT END OF THE STRAW AND YOUR DECORATION WILL LAY FLAT IN YOUR JEWELRY DRAWER.
Take large yellow envelopes and label one for each month. Put paycheck stubs, deposit slips, receipts for large purchases, and paid bills in the envelope. Then, come tax time, all your records are organized by month for easy reference, and because the months never change, you can reuse the envelopes for more than one year.
