Instead of buying expensive store made baby wipes, buy the short white paper towels and make your own. Use a tupperware type container and put in 2 T of baby oil, 2 T of baby body wash, and 1/2 cup of water. Mix well and place the roll of towels in the container. After a few min. pull the paper roll out of the paper towels and pull the towels out from the center as you need them. Much $$$ saved!
Instead of buying those pricey wrinkle removers, fill a spray bottle 1/3 full with your favorite fabric softener, and the rest with water. Use like the wrinkle removers. You can also refresh your clothes before wear with a quick spritz for a nice fresh scent if so inclined.
Look for coupons in your sunday paper, magazines, or on your computer.
I save all of my quarters and single dollar bills and its amazing how fast they add up to an amount I can use for a project in my home. For example, after about 7 months I have enough to have carpeting put in my two rooms and a hallway upstairs!
If your child insists on a happy meal from Mc Donald's you can save a lot of money by buying the 10 chicken nuggets and a small fry. The Chocolate milk you are forced to pay for in a Happy Meal costs $35.00 a gallon. Serve your own drinks at home for pennies. Even better, one chicken breast dipped in flour and fried in Crisco will save the cost of the nuggest and you can buy a 5 lb bag of fries and make your own for pennies.
This is a good tip for parents and teachers. Markers seem to dry out fast. Before buying new ones try dipping them in distilled vinegar. Dab/dry off the excess and test before using on paper.
If you have a baby, take your left over vegetables, potatoes, gravy or anything you had for dinner and put it your blender; pulse and then freeze in ice cube trays. A lot cheaper than baby food. One ice cube is enough for a baby that is just starting out on food. You can increase the amount as they get older and won't have to puree it as much.
We used other toilet papers in the past and found that they clogged up our septic tank quicker so it had to be pumped more often, but since using Scott Toilet Paper, which is the ONLY brand we use now, our septic tank has not had to be pumped as often and has not clogged up.
