Get Ready, Get Set, SAVE!!!

When you have free time but don't know how to spend it wisely, cut coupons! It saves time and money! File them in a file box and keep it with you. When you have them organized, you save yourself time in the store.

Coupons

Now that the economy is so bad and everything going up in prices, it hurts the people that are on a strict budget. I have always used coupons, but these last few months the coupons in the Sunday paper get worse every week. If you have more coupons for your product, sales will go up for you.

School Supplies: "The War Chest"

Everything back-to-school is on sale right now, including loss leader items like a dozen pens for a $1, and a dozen pencils for 50 cents. I use the coupons and the sale fliers to get the best possible deal on this stuff, but I also buy at least one extra of everything while it is so inexpensive, because all parents know that stuff is going to break, get lost, run dry, get sharpened down to a nub, or simply run out long before the school year is over. This way, I am not running out and paying full price to replace items.

Coupon Organizer

I use a large photo album with clear inserts to organize my coupons. I bring home one of the store maps/ aisle locators and label the top of each page with the aisle name and number. Then I sort my coupons in order of how I shop and carry them with me that way. That way, I can always find the sizes and quantities of what I need to buy easily.

Don't Forget the Wildlife!

I keep a zip-top bag in my crisper for produce waste: the lettuce core, apple core, pieces of over-ripe banana and over-ripe grapes. My groundhog, raccoon and other wildlife love a little snack!

Pool Your Resources

My son and his family live close to my husband and me. We save gas by carpooling to the grocery store. We also buy the large economy packs of things and split them, then take turns cooking meals and sharing.

Applesauce Choices

Instead of buying the 15 to 30 ounce jars of applesauce and have it go bad so fast, try the snack pack size. It's good to keep on hand for small visitors and baking too.

Baby Shower Gift

I have found at almost every baby shower I have attended that one thing is usually not given -- and it's often a very needed gift: a humidifier! At some point baby or parents will need one. Also, other needed gifts are baby medicines for fever and gas.
