Facial Tissue Refill

To save money on facial tissue, I refill a long tissue box with a roll of SCOTT® Extra-soft Toilet Tissue, placed on its side. I just pull the first sheet through the hole. It looks just like facial tissue and it's a thick enough substitute. This way I never run out of facial tissue.

Bill Pay Reminder

Since I pay almost all of my bills using the Internet, I write the bill name and payment amount on the day it is to be withdrawn on a calendar next to my computer. Then when it has been transacted, I write the confirmation number next to the bill. I then know for sure that each bill has been paid and how much money I need to have in my account at any given time.

Save Your Change

Several years ago, I started using a pint-sized milk jug with a screw-on lid to save change in my car. I put my savings from cents-off coupons, meal savings, the money I would pay for a meal if I take my lunch, or any other savings during the day. It fits in my cup holder. It is inconspicuous and easy to handle. If I need the exact change, no one realizes it contains money because it looks like it might be something to drink. When it gets full, I put it elsewhere and start over with the process.

Save the Change

When making purchases with a check or debit card, round your total up to the next dollar when you write it in your check register. Write the amount of change out to the side. At the end of the month, add up your change and transfer it to your savings account. This keeps your checkbook easy to balance and helps you save.
