Better than Dryer Sheets
Put two bars of soap (one you like the smell of) in a tube sock, then tie off the top. When you dry your laundry, throw the tube sock and soap into the dryer with your load. It not only does the job of the dryer sheet — saving you money — but it also helps lessen your drying time. And, yes, it can be reused for a long time.

Fresh and Frugal
Here are a couple of ways to save money without going crazy: 1. Instead of eating out every week, cook with your kids. Spend some time together and save money. 2. Go to a nearby farmers' market instead of the grocery store for fresh produce. It's cheap and fresh.

Pain-free Savings Tip
Banks offer money for opening up a checking account as long as you have direct deposit. That doesn't mean it has to be your whole check. It can be as little as $10 deposited per paycheck. Go ahead and set up this account and then just forget about it. Before long, you'll have a little savings along with the $100 - $200 that the bank gave you for opening the account.

Keep Septic Tank Clean
A good way of keeping your septic tank clean is to empty 2 packs of yeast into your toilet each month. The flushed yeast will eat the waste, saving money and maybe a lot of time in the future.

Dish Water
Use a plastic shoe box to hold the dish water in one side of a double sink. It doesn't take up the whole side of the sink like a dish pan would. That way you can pour any unused liquids in the side of the sink where you are washing, not on your clean dishes. And best of all, it uses less dish soap, saving money!

Gift boxes
We start saving boxes from our groceries at the beginning of December. Tea, toaster pastry, even cake mix boxes are great sizes for small gifts. You have already paid for them, and they work nicely for gloves, toys, small tools and fragile presents.

Pay Cash
In order to stick to my budget and not fall into the "charge it" trap, I keep a bright yellow sticky note on my credit card that says "pay cash". It keeps my from spending beyond my means.
