Keeping Grapes Longer

When I buy grapes, they have a tendency to go bad very quickly. Now, after cleaning them, I drain them and wrap them in a SCOTT Towel and put them in the refrigerator. The grapes last a lot longer this way.

Save Money

Give yourself an allowance each week for lunches and gas. Budget to only spend that much. You will be challenging yourself to cut back in different ways to have money left over for the next week. Take the challenge!

SCOTT® Bath Tissue's a Keeper

My grandmother told me about SCOTT® Tissue when I was first married over 37-1/2 years ago. We have always used this product as it does save money. She recommended it not only for saving money, but for the septic tank as well. When we built our home, we would not have used anything else. We have only had to have our septic tank pumped once in 35 years, and that was because of rain. The septic guy even commented on how clean ours was without all that junky soft toilet paper people think they need. Also in going into my kid's homes and others, I have noticed there is a residue on their toilet paper holders. If they just would realize this is on themselves when you don't use SCOTT!

Free RX Discount Card

I found a website that will let you download and print a discount prescription card and then print it from your home. They say you can save from 15%-55%. You can look up the drug by name and find out what drug store is the cheapest. The website is: http://www.u017.usadrugplan.com

Weekly Budget

I like to take out a certain amount of money each week for my weekly expenses. At the end of the week, I take what is left (if any) and put it away and start over again the next week. If I spent all of the money before the end of the week, too bad! I don't get any more.

Save Your Change

Several years ago, I started using a pint-sized milk jug with a screw-on lid to save change in my car. I put my savings from cents-off coupons, meal savings, the money I would pay for a meal if I take my lunch, or any other savings during the day. It fits in my cup holder. It is inconspicuous and easy to handle. If I need the exact change, no one realizes it contains money because it looks like it might be something to drink. When it gets full, I put it elsewhere and start over with the process.

Reusable Gift Tissue Paper

Today's tough financial times call for a little creativity. I like my holiday packages to look nice, but buying tissue paper for wrapping is an extra cost I can do without. Instead, I just use my happy birthday or merry Christmas stamps with ink on some SCOTT Towels. Puff up the sheet, so they look pretty in the gift bag, and presto -- you have a very pretty, wrapped gift at a lot less of the cost. Or, leave the towels plain and the gift receiver can reuse them for cleaning.
