Fun, Inexpensive Snacks

To make a fun snack for the kids, mix low-sugar cereal, raisins and other dried fruits, mixed nuts and a small amount of chocolate chips in a bowl. Fill sandwich or snack bags with a half cup or cup of the mixture, and you'll have a healthy snack on the go that your kids will love.

Christmas Tags

To recycle Christmas cards we receive from family and friends, I cut off the cover of the card, cut it in a pretty design and use that as a pretty name tag on a gift. Just use tape to adhere the tag to the package.

Leftover Saver

If your family doesn't eat leftovers before they go bad, try this. Freeze leftovers in meal size portions. They will last longer, and make for a quick microwave meal when you don't have time to cook.

Diapers

When my Granddaughter found out there was to be a second addition to their family I started buying diapers. One package a month till she delivered. She now has a very nice stash. After baby Mondo was born (on the Fourth of July) I made a basket with lotion, q-tips, and everything the baby would need. Mama really appreciated this. It saved them a lot of money.

Baby exchange

When I was pregnant I joined all the baby web sites and now they send me full price coupons for formula. I exchange them with my freinds and family for the formula coupons that I need. This way everyone gets the formula that they use.

Banner Fastners

Going to be in a parade? Unsure of what kind of float to construct? Just turn on your computer and design a banner using the event's theme. Now, you have a printed banner, so you may want to laminate it to protect from the outdoor elements. Use COW MAGNETS to attach the banner to the sides of your vehicle. All ready for the parade!!!

Not So Fast!

To stop my grandaughter (2-1/2 yrs old) from unrolling the entire role of SCOTT Tissue while trying to potty train her, I first flatten the cardboard tube of toilet paper and then put in on the roller in reverse. It is harder for her to reach, and going the wrong way. The crease in the cardboard center prevents the roll from rolling too fast.

Saving Money on Vacations

My husband & I travel to beach for weekends several times a year; to cut cost, I have a cooler in the truck, which has knives, spoons, coffee condiments, few dishes & my old frying pan, Since sometimes we get a room without fridge I have cooler which I fill w/ice and put in things like cold cuts, hamburger meat & milk. We go to the store get items and fix meals for breakfast & lunch then splurge for supper. That way we can order the lobster w/out guilt.
