Don't Buy Ice

I keep old 2-liter soda bottles filled with water in my freezer, one to a shelf. If the electricity should go off, they help save all our food, and when the family goes on a trip or picnic, we throw them into the cooler. No buying ice, and everything stays cold.

Homemade Frozen Dinners

Buy family size packages of chicken, even if it's just 2 of you. Season with bbq sauce or teriyaki, etc. Cook and freeze. When you get home, toss in the microwave and add some veggies. Quick, fresh meal. No boxed frozen meal taste.

Christmas Wrapping Paper

Make personalized wrapping paper a fun tradition for your family. Buy roll-end paper from the newspaper office and decorate it with stickers, paint, rubber stamps, or crayons. It's inexpensive and really helps with large boxes.

RV-ers

We find SCOTT Tissue to be the best value, and does not plug up the holding tank on our RV.

Save $$$

Since most fairs allow re-entry, pack a cooler of snacks and meals and keep it in the car. Even with packing special foods, you'll save lots of money and avoid the fatty, expensive food at the fair!

Diapers

When my Granddaughter found out there was to be a second addition to their family I started buying diapers. One package a month till she delivered. She now has a very nice stash. After baby Mondo was born (on the Fourth of July) I made a basket with lotion, q-tips, and everything the baby would need. Mama really appreciated this. It saved them a lot of money.

Recycle

When its time to change oil on any of the family cars, my dear husband saves the old discarded motor oil, my husband uses it to spray on the screws, nuts and bolts underneath the car instead of throwing it in the trash.
