Digital Camera

A digital camera is wonderful. They pay for themselves in ONE vacation. I took almost 500 pictures on our trip to Alaska to visit our kids, and was able to pick the best ones to print when I got home.

Banner Fastners

Going to be in a parade? Unsure of what kind of float to construct? Just turn on your computer and design a banner using the event's theme. Now, you have a printed banner, so you may want to laminate it to protect from the outdoor elements. Use COW MAGNETS to attach the banner to the sides of your vehicle. All ready for the parade!!!

ZOO

We took our grandchildren to the zoo. Had a wonderful time and we also rode the train. The zoo is free where we live, but had to pay a little to ride the train though.

Saving Money on Vacations

My husband & I travel to beach for weekends several times a year; to cut cost, I have a cooler in the truck, which has knives, spoons, coffee condiments, few dishes & my old frying pan, Since sometimes we get a room without fridge I have cooler which I fill w/ice and put in things like cold cuts, hamburger meat & milk. We go to the store get items and fix meals for breakfast & lunch then splurge for supper. That way we can order the lobster w/out guilt.

Quick and Easy "Grandmother's Day" Gift Wrap

To save time and money when it comes to wrapping paper, buy a large roll of white freezer paper. This paper can be used for all types of craft projects as well as the perfect "wrapping paper" for use all year round. Let the grandchildren draw pictures on the paper for that special "Grandmother's Day" gift, or any gift for that matter.

Easter grass

Making your own Easter Basket Grass is easy. Put colored construction paper and older kids drawings into the shredder and fill easter baskets with the shreds.

Not So Fast!

To stop my grandaughter (2-1/2 yrs old) from unrolling the entire role of SCOTT Tissue while trying to potty train her, I first flatten the cardboard tube of toilet paper and then put in on the roller in reverse. It is harder for her to reach, and going the wrong way. The crease in the cardboard center prevents the roll from rolling too fast.

The Best Gas-saving Tip

I got new tires three years ago and the shop actually put "nitrogen" instead of just compressed air in my tires. My tires have never had to be aired up until today. I am serious! AND my tires have very little wear on them! The only hook is that you must only allow the tires to be aired with the nitrogen mixture, which you can find at many tire shops. I get better gas mileage and haven't had to get new tires for three years and counting!
