Stain Remover

This is cheap and it works. Buy cheap liquid detergent and pour it into a leftover stain remover bottle. Then spray it on your stained clothes. It works -- I've been doing it for years.

Weed Killer

4 cups of white vinegar - 1/4 white table salt - 1 to 2 tsps of liguid dish detergent. Mix together and put in a spray bottle. Use fine spray and spray weeds between patio cracks and whereever weeds grow. Do not spray near grass or flower beds. Avoid walking over where you sprayed and keep children away, as the spray can be tracked on your shoes. It is cheap, safe for the environment and works. Rain will wash it away, so use on a sunny day. I've used this for years, and it works great.

Make Soap Last Longer

When you buy your favorite soap, open both ends of each package. If you let the soap dry for 30 days, it should last 50% longer in your shower or tub. As it is drying, place it in the linen closet or dresser drawer, and it will act as a sachet.

Foam Soap Dispensers

I bought a foam hand soap dispenser and when it was empty, I didn't buy the premixed foam soap refill. I bought the standard thick kind for the same price and filled the dispenser about one-quarter of the way with soap and the rest with water. You get four times the foam for the same price. Shake to mix and enjoy!

No More Plush Paper

We were having problems with our toilets not flushing properly. We felt that our septic system probably needed to be pumped out. Thank heaven my husband thought to have me replace the "plush" toilet paper with SCOTT® Extra Soft. We barely noticed the difference, but our septic system sure did. No more flushing problems, and we are no longer thinking of having it pumped out

Substitute Mildew Remover

Instead of buying a mildew remover shower spray you can substitute vinegar in a spray bottle. Simply use a sponge to wipe away mildew and shower stains. Spray down the inside of the shower and the curtain once a day to prevent more mildew.

Use Less Toilet Tissue

Using single-ply toilet tissue paper will save tissue, especially if you have girls, as we tend to need more. People usually judge their need by length, and single-ply gives you more.

Saving Money on Vacations

My husband & I travel to beach for weekends several times a year; to cut cost, I have a cooler in the truck, which has knives, spoons, coffee condiments, few dishes & my old frying pan, Since sometimes we get a room without fridge I have cooler which I fill w/ice and put in things like cold cuts, hamburger meat & milk. We go to the store get items and fix meals for breakfast & lunch then splurge for supper. That way we can order the lobster w/out guilt.
