Only Use as Needed!

It drove my fiance nuts at first, but I have a habit of tearing just enough SCOTT Towel as needed. So instead of tearing along the perforation, I would leave a torn piece of a sheet hanging there. I didn't care what it looked like, it just felt good knowing I'm not wasting when I don't have to. SCOTT now has Choose-A-Size Towels that are perforated for smaller sheets, but I'm happy to 'perforate' them myself! :)

Protect your Counters and Table

Looking for an inexpensive hot pad to protect your counter or dining room table? Look no further than your local hardware store for a beautiful piece of slate. They can cost as little as $3.00 a piece, and you can pick a color that goes with your decor.

Stain Remover

This is cheap and it works. Buy cheap liquid detergent and pour it into a leftover stain remover bottle. Then spray it on your stained clothes. It works -- I've been doing it for years.

Kitchen and Bathroom Rugs

These days, the rubber on the corners and backs of kitchen and bath rugs seems to deteriorate/come off easily in the wash. On a nice sunny day, I put Gorilla Glue on the back of the frayed rubber and let it sit outside to dry. Once dry, you can even put it through the wash, and the glue still keeps the rubber together. It makes your carpets last longer!

Foam Soap Dispensers

I bought a foam hand soap dispenser and when it was empty, I didn't buy the premixed foam soap refill. I bought the standard thick kind for the same price and filled the dispenser about one-quarter of the way with soap and the rest with water. You get four times the foam for the same price. Shake to mix and enjoy!

Energy bill

When washing clothes, especially jeans, give an extra spin cycle. This will make them more dry and cut down on your time in the dryer. It's cut my bill significantly.

Substitute Mildew Remover

Instead of buying a mildew remover shower spray you can substitute vinegar in a spray bottle. Simply use a sponge to wipe away mildew and shower stains. Spray down the inside of the shower and the curtain once a day to prevent more mildew.

No More Plush Paper

We were having problems with our toilets not flushing properly. We felt that our septic system probably needed to be pumped out. Thank heaven my husband thought to have me replace the "plush" toilet paper with SCOTT® Extra Soft. We barely noticed the difference, but our septic system sure did. No more flushing problems, and we are no longer thinking of having it pumped out
